Home for Refugees USA is proud to partner with academic institutions such as The University of California, Irvine – Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing. Through this wonderful partnership, Home for Refugees USA can offer supplemental health services to refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers. This partnership maximizes a key alignment: It allows us at Home for Refugees USA to deliver culturally affirming case management and trauma-informed care to refugees, while also further building the skillsets of nursing students to work with a refugee and immigrant population. Students in this program also benefit, by earning a portion of their clinical hours each quarter through their participation in the program. As an academic and community-based partnership, The University of California, Irvine – Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing and Home for Refugees USA will continue to collaborate and advocate to help meet basic health promotion needs for vulnerable populations and at the same time, train emerging nurses.
