United States Will Welcome Up to 100,000 Ukrainian Refugees

The war in Ukraine has forced millions of people to flee their homes. The majority of these men and women hope to return one day to the lives they left behind, but some never will. For those who are looking for safety and security in a new country, the United States is one possible destination. Our country will potentially receive up to 100,000 refugees, and because of that, we are partnering with Community Sponsorship Hub and Welcome.US in their recently launched initiative to mobilize 100,000 U.S. Citizens to support or sponsor Ukrainians seeking refuge in the United States. 


Community Sponsorship Hub, Welcome.US, and Home for Refugees USA is calling on our communities to step up as “Welcomers” and take action to support Ukrainians seeking refuge.

  1. Be a Welcomer by emailing info@hfrusa.org to attend one of our virtual national info sessions about our community sponsorship program we call our Home Team Program. It involves gathering members from your faith group, community group, workplace, or friend group to form a “Home Team” to support a Ukrainian family for a year. 

  2. Make a donation, which mobilizes our staff and volunteers working directly to address the most urgent needs of newcomers rebuilding their lives in communities across the country.

All gifts are tax-deductible and will go to support displaced families who are newly arriving in the U.S.
